Jigna R. Joshi MD

Glaucoma Specialist
Dr. Joshi is a Board Certified glaucoma specialist. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign where she graduated with honors. She completed her medical degree with honors from the University of Illinois in Chicago. Following her internship at MacNeal Hospital in Chicago, and residency training at Northwestern University Medical Center, she obtained her fellowship training in Glaucoma at Yale University.

Prior to joining Wohl Eye Center, Dr. Joshi performed sight-saving cataract surgery in India on a medical mission in the fall of 2010.

She has been involved in multiple missions to provide free eye care in India. She continues to work with international organizations to provide free eye care and training for ophthalmologists in third world countries.
She has presented educational programs to her peers at national society meetings, including paper and poster research presentations.

Dr. Joshi has been an active member of the Illinois Association of Ophthalmology, where she served as the elected resident board member.

She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Women in Ophthalmology, the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and the Chicago Glaucoma Society.

Dr. Joshi’s civic involvement also includes volunteer work as a youth leader and with several cultural and non-profit organizations in the Chicago-land area.
